SLUGWRENCH
PROLE
Review
STYLE: Disjointed avant-garde techno.
Slugwrench man the industrial-edged electronic-noir trench dug by cEvin Key. Their objective is to create hard, tweaky noises and to temper these with spare melodies and layers of sonic calamity. Play an Autechre CD over a Throbbing Gristle CD for reference. Fortunately, Slugwrench are great musicians and flawless producers. Prole's production has excellent dynamics. The bass booms, and the dogpile of mangled blips, ticks, cracks and booms often translates as inspiring noise.
VERDICT: An excellent product that shows potential.
ALTERNATIVES: Speedy J, Involution, Download.
