Let me tell you a story... On my way home from the Beave Jerky P.O. Box I stopped by a little pizzeria where many of my musician friends work. There's a CD player in the back and I often play submissions where they are then crudely judged by a pizza tribunal. Usually someone will punch through all the songs, muttering something like "That's pretty cool" or "This sucks ass!" but this night was different. When this electronica CD began playing, everyone became silent. Some stared at the speakers in a confused daze, at least one person began to wiggle her booty. After a minute or so, a peaceful vibe enveloped the pizzeria and everyone went back to work. The album continued playing, uninterrupted... for 73 minutes!!! When it was all over, many appeared sad, craving more. And so we played it again, hypnotized, entranced, human zombies. It was the closest I've come to an out-of-body experience while sustaining no visible injuries. (4 out of 5)... Intolerance Records.
The Slugwrench Prole album won the Beave Jerky Fall 1998 Pookie award for the best album to induce trance.
